Langbiang Mountain

Langbiang Mountain, one of the must-see Da Lat attractions in Vietnam, is situated on Lang Biang Plateau, Lac Duong district, Lam Dong province.
This is only approximately 12 km far from Da Lat centre and sometimes named Lam Vien Mountain as well. Legend says that the Langbiang name was originated from the name of a couple who were deeply in love with each other – the man named K’lang and the woman named Ho Biang. Langbiang contains the two highest peaks of Lam Vien highland  and one of them is usually regarded as the roof of Da Lat. 

The mountain is well-known for its wonderful nature and its marvelous view of the whole wide region of Da Lat City, the rivers, the forest, and houses of tribal people. When visiting Langbiang Mountain, you could enjoy a lot of interesting activities, such as camping, bird-watching, exploring the natural flora and experiencing the great but unique culture of the ethnic minority groups.

The next one in regard to famous Da Lat attractions is Da Lat Railway Station, which is recognized as a historic culture by Ministry of Culture – Information of Vietnam. This is also one of the tourist hotspots in Dalat. Da Lat Railway Station was a train station of Da Lat’s city. This is reckoned the oldest station in Viet Nam as well as Indochina.

The station was built by the French from 1932 to 1938 and is the railhead of the Railway Phan Rang-Da Lat, about 84 km in length. The station has a unique architectural style, with three conical roofs, which are the stylization of three Langbiang mountain tops or the hollow of mountain Highlands. The station is currently a hotspot attracting tourists. Now, the only route that is still serving tourists is the route “Dalat – Trai Mat” (7 km in length) taking visitors to Trai Mat, and Linh Phuoc Pagoda.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda

Completed in 1952, Linh Phuoc Pagoda is covered in ornate, colourful mosaic made from pieces of pottery and glass.
The pagoda was built in 1949 and finished in 1952. It had being managed by 4 Buddhist monks, including Mr. Thich Minh The (1951-1954), Mr. Thich An Hoa (1954- 1956), Mr. Thich Quang Phat (1956-1959) and Mr. Thich Minh Duc (1959-1985). Since 1985, Mr. Thich Tam Vi has managed this pagoda and it had a big restoration in 1990.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda is one of the most famous pagodas of Dalat City. It is also a sophisticated mosaic architecture and charming character of the southern Asia.

THE CON GA CATHEDRAL – Cock Church Cathedral

When visitors arrive Dalat city, the first thing makes them feel impressive is the bell tower of the Cathedral which local people has called it “Cock church“. It is because there is a man-made cock stuck on the top of the tower. It is the biggest church in Dalat city which was designed and built by Frenchman.
Priest Robert together with Dr. Alexandre Yersin discovered Dalat city in 1893. Until 1917, priest Nicolas Couveur came to Dalat with his purpose to found a resting place for priests. Then, he decided to build a convalescence block which is a part of the Cathedral now. At the end of April 1920, Bishop Quinton made a decision to found Dalat Bishopric.

The Cathedral was begun construction on July 19,1931. Bishop Colomban Dreyer was the one who laid the first stone for the construction.
With the beautiful location, the church is also a famous place for tourists coming to take photo, especially in Christmas time. The bell tower is also a landmark for tourists to find where the city center is.
Datanla Waterfall

Datanla cataract is considered as one of the most wonderful Da Lat attractions with deep and much flow waterfall. This makes the sound of the water falling exciting and thunderous at the same time.
This waterfall is located near at the natural place, which is very wonderful, full of green pines – a forest of over 100 years. Datanla cataract, featuring with a 20-meter drop, contains several wooden bridges to cross from one side to another side, and to observe from the above of the waterfall.

Prenn waterfall is located at the foot of Prenn Pass which is 10 km far from Dalat city. Prenn waterfall is the gateway of Dalat. In the old time, there was a village of prenn up the stream, so the waterfall bears the name Prenn.
It has the height of 9m, and the width of 20m and it lies on the stream of Prenn. From its height, the water flows down over a cliff of basalt rock creating a white curtain of water like the hair of a fairy.

At present, the tourist site has an area of 160 ha, of which the pine forest and primitive trees make up 90% of the area. The site has been restored and equipped with the cable-car, suspension bridge, stilt-houses, huts on trees, showroom of silk paintings, souvenir shops and the services like folklore music performance, rowing-boat, folklore games, etc and a restaurant serving food as the desires of tourists, especially the snake-head fish soup.

Elephant waterfall is situated in Nam Ban (Nam Ban) town, about 40km away from Da Lat. Elephant waterfall, also known as Lieng Rowoa waterfall, is among the most beautiful waterfalls of Da Lat with the height of over 30m and width of 15m.
Not mention to the charming, poetic, majestic beauty, Elephant waterfall itself was the revolutionary base in the resistance wars against France and America of our nation. Although newly recreated into a religious tourist attraction in recent years, Elephant waterfall was recognized as a National-level beauty spot. Da Lat has the power to not only romanticize but also inspire people to go beyond their own limits. Hang Nga guesthouse, also called as the “Crazy house”, is such a building of artwork that challenges the imagination of human beings.
Designed by a Vietnamese impressionist and architect named Dang Viet Nga, this extraordinary building of non-rectilinear shapes has represented in a lot of international architectural journals and eventually made its manner to the list of ten most creative buildings of the world. In details, it is a wide mass of wood and wire fashioned into the figure of a giant tree house and smoothed over in concrete.

When visiting here, you will discover that the Crazy house is really a spectacular construction with 10 themed guest rooms such as the eagle room, the tiger room, the ant room, and the kangaroo room, with handcrafted furniture and decorations matching with the theme. Each room comes with a specific meaning, according to the creator – Viet Nga. For example, the eagle room refers to the American while the tiger room describes the Chinese. Despite it is theoretically a hotel, Hang Nga Guesthouse is deserved to be one of the must-see Da Lat attractions, which is recently regarded as a “museum” of childhood, dream and abnormality.

The Da Lat Night Market represents the heart of the city of thousands of flowers, situated in the city centre. Cu Lan Village

Cu Lan Village


Cu Lan village is named after a local plant species that flourishes between the rows of pine trees. Cu Lan is also the Vietnamese word for a sloth that lives near the village.
The village is nestled in a forest at the foot of Lang Biang mountain in Lac Duong district, 20km from Da Lat. Here, the K’ho, one of the 54 ethnic groups of Viet Nam, live in stilt houses that lean against the steep slope.

Standing on top of green stone steps paved on the path that winds its way up the hill side, we looked down and saw a small, peaceful commune of the ethnic K’ho people with a stream nearby amid a forest of blooming flowers. Located in a flat area, covered with green grass, it is seen as the “heart” of Cu Lan Village. Rows of stilt houses stand next to each other where the local ethnic people are living.

Sunflower Field

Sunflower Field


The field is located inside the milk factory of local milk brand: Da Lat Milk. From Dalat city, go straight ahead the Prenn pass towards Duc Trong district, pass Fi Nom junction you will see Van Hoa Bong Lai village’s welcoming board, 400 meters away from the route. From there, you keep going straight 2-3 kimometers to Tu Tra gate, drive 5 more kilometers from the gate you will get to Dalat Milk. That where the sunflower field is!
The sunflower flower has two season: November-December and April-May. However, they look most beautiful in the winter (November-December) and tourists are advised to go here in this time to enjoy the “two in one beauty” of Dalat.
